Earthquake in Tsukuba

[06-10-2004 23h40] There has been an earthquake with its epicenter in Tsukuba. The tremor lasted more than 30 seconds and the energy liberated was corresponded to a magnitde 5.8 on the richter scale. The fault was located more than 60 kilometers deep on the bedrock (the soil is very deep in Kanto). The shape of the rocks making the Kanto bedrock guided the waves toward the edges of the plain and some cities located more than 60 kilometers away from Tsukuba received up to 3 times more energy than Tsukuba. There were very few damage: a vase spilled and a few object fall down.
